Dining Under the Stars

Red carpet lining the door entry, paparazzi style photos being snapped upon arrival, DHC kids in black bow ties were greeting each guest escorting you to your 5 star fine dining experience for the evening. This was the ambience as you graced the night at the Dasie Hope Center, Saturday April 30, 2016. Dasie Hope Center was transformed into a respectable fine dining restaurant complete with all the fine china fixings as, Chef Andrea Randazzo, whisked away preparing the sultry menu she hand-crafted for Dasie Hope Center. You couldn't help but linger into the fresh scent of herbs and spices that succumbed the entire room. While Hors D' Oeurves were being passed by our own DHC kids, acting as waiters and waitresses for Chef Andrea, guests had various distractions to tickle their every fancy while awaiting her delicacies'. Guest were given kid friendly guided "Dream Tours" of the center, an Art Gallery was on display created by the kids, and a Silent Auction of various likings were available for guests to enjoy.

Chef Andrea's Menu Selections Included:

  • Hors D'Oeurves: Tartare of Ahi Tuna, Chorizo-Cheddar Potato Croquettes, Marinated Grilled Churrasco Skewers
  • First Course: Thyme & Preserved Lemon Baked Local Black Grouper, Whole Grain Mustard Potato Gnocchi, topped with Fresh Oven Roasted Tomato Baby Spinach
  • Second Course: Coffee Braised Angus Beef Short Ribs, Roasted Shallot Tamale, Arugula, Orange-Blackberry Gremolada, Ricotta Salata
  • Dessert: Chocolate Chip-Cranberry Bread Pudding with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Dark Chocolate Ganache, Crispy Almond-Smoked Bacon Streusel

After dinner guests indulged in their silent auction winnings, raffle prizes, and party favors hand-crafted by DHC kids. Thank you to Chef Andrea Curto-Randazzo of Talula Restaurant Miami Beach, for providing the kids and Wabasso Community with this special treat!

Brief Bio on Chef Andrea Curto-Randazzo

Andrea Curto-Randazzo, a Vero Beach Native, became known as the chef and owner of The Talula Restaurant and Creative Tastes Catering. She graduated from the Culinary Institute of America with honors and soon found herself working in the kitchens of Tribeca Grill and Aja in NYC. She returned to Miami afterwards and worked at The Heights and Wish.

In 2000 she was named one of Food and Wine magazine’s Best New Chefs. Three years later, she and husband Frank opened Talula, picked by The New York Times as “The Place to be Now.” The mother of three says her favorite recipe is her braised short ribs with homemade gnocchi. In 2010, she was chosen as 1 of the 17 chefs competing on the seventh season of Bravo’s Top Chef, where she gave the other contestants a run for their money.
